Mike DeGuzman
Teaching Pastor
As one who did not grow up in a Christian home, I had a lot of catching up to do when Jesus saved me in 1993 when I was 26 years old. I was then privileged to have a mature Christian brother take me under his wing to disciple me in the faith. Originally, I thought everyone was discipled but soon realized that very few have these opportunities. As part of what we do at CBC, I make it my aim to make disciples who will go on to make disciples.
I knew early in my Christian life that God had called me into full-time ministry but I did not know what that would look like. I just wanted to be faithful to whatever God had in front of me to do. Whether that was setting up chairs in our church plant, leading an AWANA group, or working with teenagers, I needed to be faithful. We spent 3 years on staff with Student Venture (the teenage ministry of Cru) and 9 years working with youth at CBC in Beaufort, SC. Never, in my wildest dreams, did I see myself as the lead pastor of a church. Yet, that is where God has me and I continue to make it my aim to be faithful.
My wife Sherry and I have 8 children and 5 grandchildren. Three of our children are married and have blessed us with the joy of 7 grandchildren. We have twin daughters in Vinnitsa, Ukraine who have opened the first crisis pregnancy center in that city. Our other children are here with us in Ocala.
Away from CBC, I enjoy salt water fishing and rooting on my teams in Tampa.

Josh Head
Pastor of Worship & Outreach
“I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!” Psalm 34:1,3
Creativity flourishes in the context of community and Josh Head is grateful to live that out in his life. Josh views his primary calling as being a husband to Sophia and father to their three kids; he spends his “free time” with them. For the past seven years, Josh has served on staff at Ambleside School of Ocala, where he brings a passion for gospel ministry and a joyful atmosphere.
Josh is currently earning his Master’s Degree in Worship Studies from IWS in Jacksonville, FL. In August (if all goes well), the Head family will be growing with the addition of twin girls! They are very excited to be joining the CBC community and look forward to many years of Christ-centered worship together.
